So what is STEAM?
Science: Technology:Engineering:Arts:Maths
It is an educational approach designed to prepare students for the challenges of the modern world, developing an analytical approach to problem solving, exploring modern technology and most importantly having fun while learning.
At Podpadstudios we have number of large scale creations which we use to teach STEAM activiites, both in schools and at larger UK based events.

Tiffany is a 10ft high autonomous entertainment robot which we use to explore the fun behind code writing and building Object detection systems. Her size and personality always have an impact at events. We are able to talk about how she was created and how we use very simple technology, technology available to all, to create complex tasks. She is a great introduction to the world of object detection and using the Raspberry Pi computer.

This brother and sister duo have a very sad story. If you sit on the wicked witches carrIage you can learn how she controls the two dragons and try and control them yourself.
This STEAM creation explores a number of things from story telling, itentity to learning about digital and analog control systems plus how much fun do you have learning about robotics stroking a dragon.
